Jockey Damien Oliver has been booked to ride G2 Hardwicke S. winner Snow Sky (GB) (Nayef) in the G1 Caulfield Cup Oct. 17, according to racing.com. Khalid Abdullah's 4-year-old will have to carry top weight in the A$3 million prize, but Oliver nonetheless expressed confidence.
“He was a very impressive winner at Royal Ascot winning the Hardwicke S., and that's usually a high-class race,” Oliver told racing.com. “I was actually over there for the running of that race this year and there were some very good horses in the race and it was quite a tactical race. He looks a pretty impressive type of horse and it's a very exciting opportunity.”
Under the guidance of Sir Michael Stoute, Snow Sky also won this year's G2 Yorkshire Cup prior to his Royal Ascot score, and was last seen finishing sixth in the G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth S. July 25.
