Distorted Humor Colt Victorious at Laurel

Vorticity earned his first stakes victory with a score in Laurel's co-feature Saturday afternoon. Third on debut going six furlongs here Oct. 10, the dark bay annexed a seven-furlong test at Aqueduct Nov. 8, defeating Stradivari (Medaglia d'Oro) and Condo King (Tiz Wonderful), who both returned to earn maiden special weight victories earlier today. Vorticity skimmed the rail in the early stages and found himself in a bit of a tight spot through a half-mile in :46.44. Adroitly extracted from the rail by Victor Carrasco, the colt braced for a challenge from favored Never Gone South (Munnings) turning for home and repelled that rival to score by 1 1/2 lengths. The winner's MGSW dam is a half to GSW and GI Preakness S. runner-up Scrappy T (Fit to Fight).
