The Midlantic Fall Yearling Sale will take place Tuesday in Timonium, Maryland. The one-day sale has 401 hips catalogued. During the 2014 sale, 275 horses sold for an average of $21,905 and a median of $10,000–both figures were slightly down from the 2013 numbers where the average was $25,857 and the median was $17,000. In 2014, 100 horses did not sell. Last year's sale was topped by a yet unraced son of Flatter who went to Hillwood Stable for $260,000.
“We're excited about the catalogue that we have,” said Fasig-Tipton's Pagett Bennett. “We have a lot of people headed this way and we're looking forward to a good sale. We're certainly hopeful that we'll continue the trend of what has been taking place at the sales. There's a lot of nice, useful horses that come out of this sale and people really need to come shop it and find out for themselves.”
The bidding will get underway at 10 a.m. in the Timonium Sales Pavilion.
