Royalmania (GB), f, 2, 2011 by Elusive Quality

1st Dam: Safari Queen (Arg) (Ch. 2yo Filly-Arg, MG1SW-Arg & MGSW-US, $550,124), by Lode
2nd Dam: Safari Girl (Arg), by Sonus (Ire)
3rd Dam: Sally Girl (Arg), by Fain (Arg)

Owner: Wertheimer & Frere
Breeder: Wertheimer & Frere
Trainer: Freddy Head

Hammered down to 9-10 favoritism at the tills, Royalmania's only cause for concern was when she became a little on edge as others misbehaved during the preliminaries. The race itself was a straightforward affair, and then some, as she justified the assembled's support to garner this newcomers' event in highly impressive fashion. Knowing her job from the gate, the homebred chestnut settled just behind the leaders in fourth after the initial strides. She eased to the front on the home turn, quickened clear in an instant in early stretch and was on cruise control in the latter stages to defeat the overmatched La Gohanniere (Fr) (Le Havre {Ire}) by a facile eight lengths. “She is a filly who has worked very nicely at home in the mornings,” revealed trainer Freddy Head. “I have to say I was most impressed by her performance, but it was her first run an we don't know the quality of the opposition. We will now wait and see befoe deciding where we go next with her.” Racing manager Pierre-Yves Bureau added, “We bought the mare [Safari Queen] in foal at Keeneland when she was carrying Royalmania and she's had two foals since. The dam was a great racemare and it's a most encouraging start.” Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, €12,000.
