All of the feature events, including three Group 1s on the Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup day card, have been rescheduled for Thursday, Mar. 16, the Auckland Racing Club and NZTR announced Saturday. Severe weather washed out the fixture, but Ellerslie will conduct a twilight card instead. the TAB refunded all futures and final field bets.
“Up until 4:00 p.m. on Friday the track was a Dead 5 or 6, but since then more than a hundred millimetres of rain has fallen with the forecast of more to come,” Cameron George, Chief Executive of Auckland Racing Club, told www.racingnews.co.nz.
