Ascot is the location for the first European breeze up sale this year as Tattersalls Ireland host their one-day affair. All lots breezed up the Ascot straight on Tuesday afternoon and selling gets underway at midday today as 90 lots (nine scratched at time of writing) come under the hammer. The sale is best known as the source of G2 Coventry S. and G1 Prix Morny winner The Wow Signal (Ire) (Starspangledbanner {Aus}) who was purchased for £50,000 by Sean Quinn from Eddie O'Leary's Lynn Lodge Stud. Other stakes winning graduates include First Selection (SPA) (Diktat), a rare Spanish bred offering at a UK sale who won the G3 Solario S. at Sandown having cost trainer Simon Crisford £42,000 from the Bansha House draft of Con Marnane; and Madam Dancealot (Ire) (Sir Prancealot {Ire}) a winner of the G3 Dick Poole Fillies' S. at Salisbury last year before being sold to continue her career in America for €260,000.
