Having swerved last Saturday's G3 Palace House S. due to Newmarket's fast ground, Profitable (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) is back for the G3 Prix de Saint-Georges at Deauville on Saturday where he may be able to benefit from an 11-pound concession from last year's G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest hero Signs of Blessing (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}). Profitable escapes any extra weight as his G2 Temple S. and G1 King's Stand S. successes came before the start of July, and this first outing in the Godolphin blue looks poised for him. “We have been pleased with Profitable. I think that he should have a very strong chance, especially with Signs of Blessing running under a penalty,” trainer Clive Cox commented. “I am pleased with the forecast ground conditions and looking forward to seeing him back in action.” For Signs of Blessing, this acts very much as a re-entry exercise under his formidable burden, but he showed again when just over a length fifth in the Dec. 11 G1 Hong Kong Sprint that he is a class act.
