With the G1 Preis der Diana upcoming, Sunday's G2 Diana-Trial at Hoppegarten offers the chance for Germany's leading middle-distance fillies to rise to the occasion. Last year's G3 Preis der Winterkonigin winner Well Spoken (Ger) (Soldier Hollow {GB}) is here, as is the rival who was just a head second to her in that Baden-Baden contest in Pemina (Ger) (Soldier Hollow {GB}). They have proven pattern-race form on their side in opposition to the unexposed Shy Angel (GB) (Zamindar), who was second over this course and distance on May 14, and Litaara (Ger) (Wiener Walzer {Ger}), who scored decisively on debut over 10 1/2 furlongs at Dusseldorf on Apr. 9.
