Gentleman's Bet to Journeyman

Gentleman's Bet

Dual stakes winner Gentleman's Bet (Half Ours-Lady of Sun, by Gentleman) has been retired from racing and will stand the 2018 season at Brent and Crystal Fernung's Journeyman Stud in Ocala, Florida. His stud fee will be announced at a later date. From the family of GI Consolidator (Storm Cat), Gentleman's Bet-who was campaigned by Harry T. Rosenblum–won five of seven career starts, amassing $744,155 in earnings. Included among his victories are the Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash S.; Hot Springs S. at Oaklawn Park; and Iowa Sprint H. In addition, Gentlemen's Bet placed in the GI Breeder's Cup Sprint; GI Alfred G. Vanderbilt H. and GIII Count Fleet Sprint H.
“Gentlemen's Bet is the perfect horse for Florida,” said Brent Fernung. “He is a big, beautiful, fast horse with a great pedigree. The Frank J. De Francis S. has made quite an impact in Florida in the past. Among the winners of that race to go to stud in Ocala are Wildcat Heir, Montbrook and Yes it's True, arguably the best three stallions to stand in Florida in the past 20 years.”
