Racing analyst Tom Amello will present the first of two handicapping seminars at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame Tuesday, July 25 at 11 a.m. Amello's The program is included with a paid Museum admission.
“Handicapping 101” will cover the essential elements of understanding past performances, general racing terminology and how to analyze the odds board to help make educated wagers. Attendees will also get the opportunity to ask questions. Amello has produced the “Trackfacts” selection sheet at Saratoga since 1988. In April of 1992, he began production of a television version of Trackfacts for Capital OTB TV, and developed and hosted a second show for Capital OTB, “Trackfacts Live.”
A second seminar, “Advanced Handicapping Analytics,” will be hosted by Amello Wednesday, Aug. 16 at the Museum. That event will be at 11 a.m. and is free with a paid Museum admission.
