Bradley/Elliott Colt Nearing Return

Monkeylou winning at Listowel | Racing Post

Beckford (GB) (Bated Breath {GB}) has been a star juvenile for Gordon Elliott this season winning the G2 Gain Railway S. at The Curragh July 1 and the trainer has another highly thought of juvenile waiting in the wings for imminent stakes duty. Monkeylou (Ire) (Dream Ahead) was well touted before his debut at Listowel at the beginning of June and he overcame greenness and a wide berth to easily win a maiden under Pat Smullen and he has an entry in the G1 Goffs Vincent O'Brien National S. at The Curragh in September. The Ballylinch Stud bred colt was a 40,000 gns Tattersalls Book 2 purchase and is owned by renowned syndicator Nick Bradley and his investors . “All is good with him and he's got two options,” said Bradley of Monkeylou. “He'll either run in the [G3] Tyros Stakes at Leopardstown or go to Tipperary for a Listed race on the 11th August over seven and a half furlongs. He needs a step up in trip, that's what he wants, but he's going well at home,” he added.
