After some tough encounters with two of the queen bees of Ballydoyle's 2-year-old battalion, Nyaleti (Ire) (Arch) could gain compensation in Saturday's G3 Princess Margaret Juddmonte S. at Ascot. Providing the combined effort of chasing home 'TDN Rising Star' September (Ire) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) in the Listed Chesham S. over seven furlongs here on June 24 and Clemmie (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the G2 Duchess of Cambridge S. at Newmarket at this distance on July 14 have not taken their toll, she will be difficult to oust here. Charlie Johnston, assistant to father Mark, said, “Nyaleti is in good form and from my point of view she's one of, if not the best, 2-year-old filly in Britain on form. She's just been unlucky to bump into the two best in Ireland on her last couple of runs. There's no disgrace in finishing second to those two. She maybe didn't quite run up to her Ascot form at Newmarket, but she still ran a good race and she seems versatile over five and six furlongs. The only possible variable would be the ground if they got a lot of rain. I don't know how she'd handle it.”
Cheveley Park Stud's Russian Rhythm (Kingmambo) and Soar (GB) (Danzero {Aus}) captured this in 2000 and 2002 and the operation are represented this time by the unbeaten Dance Diva (GB) (Mayson {GB}). Professional in the Listed Empress Fillies' S. at Newmarket last time on July 1, she will handle ease in the ground. “We bypassed the Duchess of Cambridge S. at Newmarket on the basis of going for this race,” the Stud's managing director Chris Richardson explained. “It gave us a bit more time after the three quick runs that she had. She's still learning and I hope she's still progressive.”
Godolphin's Spring Cosmos (Ire) (Acclamation {GB}) is one of the least-exposed and most interesting runners following her debut success at Newmarket on July 13, and trainer Charlie Appleby said, “She's come out of the race well and I am delighted with how she is coming into Saturday. Ideally, we probably don't want too much rain. We will keep an eye on the ground, but she has not got many options around and we have our hands forced a bit. I've made an entry for the Molecomb at Goodwood next week, just in case conditions do get too testing for us.”
