Three-time Grade I victress Miss Temple City (Temple City) will be heavily favored over six rivals in the GIII WinStar Matchmaker S. on the GI Haskell undercard at Monmouth Park Sunday.
Last term's GI Maker's 46 Mile S., GI Shadwell Turf Mile S. and GI Matriarch S. heroine kicked off her 5-year-old campaign with a 13th-place finish in the prestigious G1 Queen Anne S. at Royal Ascot June 20.
“I'm excited to have Miss Temple City back in the entries and I'm looking forward to it,” trainer Graham Motion said. “We're getting off to a bit of a late start with her after going to Ascot, but she's done well since she came back from England and I'm excited to get her back on track on Sunday.”
War Flag (War Front), heroine of last summer's G3 Prix Chloe S. at Chantilly, made her U.S. debut a winning one in a local optional claimer in mid-June off a lengthy layoff.
Wekeela (Fr) (Hurricane Run {Ire}), runner-up in last year's GI Coolmore Jenny Wiley S. and GI Gamely S., narrowly got the money in her seasonal debut in an optional claimer at Belmont June 11.
