Inglis's August Thoroughbred Sale of mixed stock returned results that were up on last year when staged at Oaklands in Melbourne on Friday. The clearance rate for 180 sold was 90%, a 2% improvement from last year, while the aggregate of A$3,185,750 was up from A$2,044,200 for fourteen more sold last year. The average climbed 68% to A$17,699, while the median jumped 125% to A$9,000.
Woodside Park's 5-year-old maiden mare Condolences (Aus) (Street Cry {Ire}) (lot 33) topped trade at A$150,000 to the bid of Belmont Bloodstock Agency and Tyreel Stud. The bay is a half-sister to G1 Cox Plate winner Maldivian (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}).
Godolphin sold three of the top five, it's unraced 4-year-old Lonhro (Aus) filly Chroma (Aus) (lot 120) the only other to break six figures when realizing A$100,000 from Exact Civil Construction. She is a half-sister to Group 2 winner Knight's Tour (Aus) (Reset {Aus}).
Also sold by Godolphin was 4-year-old maiden mare Wazamba (Aus) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}) (lot 136). She was purchased by Riyue Trading for A$82,500, the same price commanded by the stakes-placed Fastnet Rock (Aus) filly Triband (Aus) (lot 94) from JC Bloodstock.
