Lawyer Ron (Langfuhr–Donation, by Lord Avie), a MGISW of $2,790,008, has been retired and will head to Stonewall Farm Stallions, it was announced yesterday. His stud fee has been set at $30,000.ìIt is just the right time, and timing is every thing in the Thoroughbred industry,î said attorney Ron Bamberger, a longtime friend and advisor of owner/breeder, the late James T. Hines Jr. It was for Bamberger that the colt was named. Lawyer Ron was a leading candidate for the 2006 GI Kentucky Derby after a four-race winning streak capped by the GII Arkansas Derby for trainer Bob Holthus. Tragically, Hines was the victim of an accidental drowning during that run, but Lawyer Ron continued on the Derby trail for Hinesís estate. Stonewall purchased an interest in the chestnut just the ìRun for the Roses.î
