Another Possible Mongolian Saturday at Keeneland

In the field of nine set for Saturday's GII Woodford S., only Mongolian Saturday (Any Given Saturday) has found success over the Keeneland turf and looks to continue it this weekend.

The 7-year-old returns as the race's reigning champion, then a Grade III, running his best Beyer since returning to the States and posting a half-length victory. It remains his most recent trip to the winner's circle. Mongolian Saturday's best career result came in the 2015 GI Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint, when he scored the 16-1 upset over this course. The gelding comes out of a tough half-length defeat to Pure Sensation (Zensational) in the GIII Turf Monster S. at Parx Sept. 4.

The top two finishers out of the GIII Kentucky Downs Turf Sprint face off again as 5-2 morning-line favorite Hogy (Offlee Wild) got the better of co-second choice Commend (War Front) in the final yards Sept. 9.

Gary Barber's 'TDN Rising Star' Conquest Panthera (Kitten's Joy) ships down from Woodbine where he won the seven-furlong GII Play The King S. two starts back before a seventh-place finish in the GI Woodbine Mile behind MGISW World Approval (Northern Afleet).
