Darley has announced the multiple graded stakes winner Songster (Songandaprayer–Peppy Lapeau, by French Deputy), who entered stud this year at the operatio?s Kentucky base, will return to training due to “undetermined fertility issues.” Stallion Nominations Manager Charlie Boden said, “It's obviously an unfortunate situation, but one that happens occasionally in our business. Our goal now is to take care of the breeders that committed to Songster the best we can. After that, we look forward to seeing him perform once again on the track.” The five-year-old, winner of the GII Woody Stephens BC S. and GIII Hirsch Jacobs S. at three for trainer Tom Albertrani in Sheikh MohammedÃs colors, raced in the Godolphin blue in 2007, capturing the GIII Bold Ruler H. in his finale last May. The black horse entered stud with a record of 8-4-3-0 and earnings of $367,740.
