Showing Up Retired

Lael Stables' Showing Up (Strategic Mission–Miss Alethia, by T.V. Commercial) has been retired and will enter stud in 2009, said Barclay Tagg yesterday. “He's perfectly sound,” Tagg told Blood-Horse. “He had a couple of little problems with his hind suspensory, but he's 100 percent now.” Winner of the GII Lexington S. and the GII Colonial Turf Cup in the spring of 2006, the $60,000 FTMMAY juvenile added victories in that year's GI Secretariat S. and GII Jamaica BC H. and finished third against older horses in the GI Man ëo War S. He concluded his sophomore campaign with a score in the GI Hollywood Derby. In his sole start at four, the chestnut finished runner-up to Kip Deville in the GII Maker's Mark Mile. He retires with seven wins from 10 starts and $1,660,500 in earnings.
