The ill-fated GI Kentucky Derby runner-up Eight Belles (Unbridled's Song) has tested negative for steroids and banned substances, according to published reports. The Kentucky Horse Racing Authority's official laboratory at Iowa State University also confirmed that all other starters in the Derby tested negative for illegal medications as well. Eight Belles won five of 10 career starts, including the GII Fantasy S. She posted $708,650 in earnings.
