Stronach Stables' Giant Gizmo (Giant's Causeway) will miss Saturday's GI Whitney H. after suffering an injury. “He had a non-displaced condylar fracture, which the vets said should heal very well in about four to six months,” trainer Bobby Frankel told a national media teleconference Tuesday afternoon, adding that he is hopeful the four-year-old would make a return to the races in 2009. Sixth to Monterey Jazz in the GII Strub S. in February, the homebred son of Golden Antigua (Hansel) has since won three straight, including the GIII Alysheba S. at Churchill Downs May 2 and the GIII Lone Star Park H. in Texas May 26. The chestnut has a current record of 11-6-1-1 and earnings of $508,685.
