Officials at York racecourse were forced to surrender all hope of staging the remaining two days of the Ebor Meeting after further rain fell on an already waterlogged track. Clerk of the Course William Derby made the announcement following a noon inspection and revealed that the British Horseracing Authority were looking at rescheduling some of the major races at Newbury and Newmarket on Friday and Newmarket and Goodwood on Saturday.
