ANTONY BECK, GAINESWAY FARM: Ted Bassett
The person in racing who I most admire is Ted Bassett. It's not just that he cultivated Keeneland into one of the most respected racing organizations in North America, or that he was able to implement the vision of the Breeders' Cup founders to create the world's greatest racing festival, but that he did it in the style of “the first gentleman of racing.” Ted has an extraordinary ability to win people over with his charm and his intellect, but, despite all his successes, remains remarkably humble and a great friend to many.
