Stonestreet Buys Rachel Alexandra

Jess Jackson's Stonestreet Stables has purchased Rachel Alexandra (Medaglia d'Oro) from owner/breeder Dolphus Morrison and partner Michael Lauffer. The three-year-old filly won Friday's GI Kentucky Oaks by a record 20 1/4 lengths for her fifth straight victory. Her record currently stands at 10-7-2-0, with a bankroll of $958,354. According to trainer Hal Wiggins, Rachel Alexandra was the subject of a veterinary exam Wednesday morning. “She was vetted out this morning and it all went very well,” Wiggins said. “I just found out about this [Tuesday] night. They were supposed to signing the papers [Wednesday] afternoon. The money is supposed to transfer tomorrow if it all goes through.”
