Hip 151, a Kingmambo filly out of G1SW Imperial Beauty (Imperial Ballet {Ire}), was the subject of an opening bid of $1 million Tuesday night at Saratoga, but will be reoffered in place of hip 202 after it was determined that the bid was not legitimate. “It appears that we had a duck a few minutes ago,” said announcer Terence Collier from the lectern. “Apparently we had a bidder who had enjoyed too many pleasures of the Spa, but failed to establish credit.” The dark bay is consigned by Denali Stud on behalf of Greenwood Lodge Stud, which paid $180,000 to acquire the filly as a weanling at the 2008 Keeneland November sale.
