GI Breeders' Cup Classic hopeful Rip Van Winkle (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) is “day by day” to make Saturday's $5-million race due to an unspecified foot problem, Racing Post reports. The three-year-old is currently in the quarantine barn at Santa Anita. “This horse has had no clean run this year and he hasn't had one this time,” O'Brien told Racing Post. “The problem is again a foot problem, but this time a different foot is affected. He goes to the track on Wednesday and we will see.”
