She Be Wild Injured; Out of Oaks

Last year's champion juvenile filly She Be Wild (Offlee Wild) will not run in the GI Kentucky Oaks after sustaining a leg injury Sunday morning, Daily Racing Form reports. The three-year-old was going through a routine gallop at Keeneland and emerged from the exercise with a fractured left pastern. Trainer Wayne Catalano told the publication that the filly wouldn't necessarily be retired. “Dr. Gary Priest inserted a screw in the leg, and everything went well,” said Catalano. “The filly's fine now, and that's the main thing. Obviously we're very sad about it, but it's part of the game.” Owned by Nancy Mazzoni, She Be Wild ran third in the GI Ashland S. at Keeneland in her most recent.
