First Winner For Dundeel

Dundeel | Arrowfield

Six-time Group 1 winner Dundeel (NZ) (High Chaparral {Ire}) got off the mark with his first winner at Tauranga in New Zealand on Friday when Cutadeel (Aus) scored on debut by three-quarters of a length going 1200 metres (video). The 2-year-old gelding, who had finished second in two trials, is trained by Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman; the latter trained Dundeel.

“It's obviously a great result for Murray, who trained Dundeel,” Forsman told Breednet.com.au. “There was plenty in his trials to encourage us. I'm not sure he's a natural 2-year-old type, but he is a really nice horse.”

Involved in Cutadeel's ownership are Mike and Sharyn Craig, who were also part owners of Dundeel. Dundeel, who won his Group 1s at ages three and four, stands at Arrowfield Stud for A$27,500.
