A new online Horse Care and Welfare online training course was launched by Horse Racing Ireland's Careers and Racing Education (CARE) department, in association with the Irish Horse Welfaire Trust (IHWT) and RACE, on Thursday. It is a blended learning programme consisting of eight online modules covering legislation around horse ownership, horse behaviour, safe handling, feeding, stable management, and first aid. The programme should act as a stepping stone for young people wishing to progress in a career in the equine industry.
“CARE was delighted to be able to further support the IHWT and in the great work that they do in educating people around the country about equine care and welfare,” said Paddy Ryan of HRI. “The online version of the course makes it far more cost effective for the IHWT to deliver, it also makes the course content accessible to a far larger number of potential participant.”
