Ghostzapper's Pacific Ocean Goes 3-for-3

The handy winner of his two starts last term, Pacific Ocean (g, 4, Ghostzapper–Miss Salsa, by Unbridled) ran his record to three-for-three in a Keeneland allowance test Saturday. The 4-5 chalk was near the back of the pack early, but picked up horses as they approached the far turn. The field fanned across the track at the top of the lane, leaving an empty three-lane highway in front of the favorite, and he charged on through. Pacific Ocean took over at the eighth pole and pulled away under a hand ride to win by two lengths. Manhattan Fox (c, 4, Elusive Quality) edged Luckiest Man (h, 5, Grand Slam) for second. The time for the seven panels was 1:23.54. The winner had not been out since taking a Keeneland allowance last October. Lifetime Record: 3-3-0-0. O-Gary & Mary West. B-Swordleston Stud (Ky). T-W Catalano.
