A fatal injury sustained by Fox Hunt (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) early in the G3 Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan meant that the race was forced to be voided. Godolphin's 5-year-old had broken down under Silvestre de Sousa after the first quarter mile and the field were forced to pull up before re-entering the home straight. Fox Hunt's two Pattern-race victories had come in last year's G3 Deutsches St Leger and the G3 Nad Al Sheba Trophy here last time Mar. 1.
