Khalid Abdullah's unbeaten TDN Rising Star Frankel (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) will target the Oct. 20 G1 Qipco Champion S. for his next race, according to a brief statement released Friday by the owner's racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe. Speculation that a late change of plan, and an attempt at Longchamp's Oct. 7 G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe might be considered by connections, was effectively nullified, and the world's highest-rated horse remains on course for the £1.3-million Ascot feature, his possible swansong. ìFollowing discussions with Sir Henry Cecil, Prince Khalid has decided that Frankel's next race will be the Champion S. at Ascot on October 20,î said Grimthorpe.
