Hollywood Park to Cease Operations

Officials at Betfair Hollywood Park will issue a statement at 4 p.m. ET confirming that the track will not seek dates for 2014, effectively marking the end of horse racing at the Inglewood, California, oval. Hollywood President Jack Liebau informed the California Horse Racing Board of the decision in a letter dated May 8. The news was first disclosed via a tweet from HRTV’s Christina Blacker. Santa Anita and Del Mar are expected to vie for the Hollywood dates.
