Godolphin announced the acquisition Tuesday of a majority share of this yea?s G1 Irish Derby hero Trading Leather (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) and purchase of the unbeaten juvenile Piping Rock (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}). The former, who was bred and trained by Jim Bolger to annexe the Curragh Classic as well as place in the G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth S., G1 Juddmonte International and G1 Irish Champion S., will stay with Bolger while the G3 Horris Hill S.-winning Piping Rock will also remain in training with Richard Hannon Jr. Godolphi?s Racing Manager Simon Crisford said, “We are delighted both Trading Leather and Piping Rock will race for Godolphin next year. Trading Leather has already shown excellent form at the highest level and we hope Piping Rock can develop into a top Group 1 performer too.”
