MGISW Laughing (Ire) (Dansili {GB}ñComic {Ire}, by Be My Chief) passed away last night while undergoing surgery for a severe case of colic. Dr. Allan Wise was called to the barn around 9 p.m. and attempted to relieve her pain, but was unsuccessful and the 6-year-old†bay was sent to Mid Atlantic Equine Clinic, where she was operated on by Dr. Patty Doyle. Trained by Al Goldberg, the Rich Santulli colorbearer came into her own this summer when she went she captured four consecutive graded stakes starting with Monmouth Parkís GIII Eatontown H. June 29, followed by the GI Diana S. July 27 and GII Ballston Spa S. Aug. 24, both at Saratoga, and concluding with the GI Flower Bowl Invitational Sept. 28 at Belmont. She made her last start in Santa Anita in the GI Breedersí Cup Filly and Mare Turf Nov. 2. She had a lifetime record of 16-8-2-2 and earnings of $1,178,881.
