Rome Plays Host to Italian Champions Day

Italy's Champions Day is slated for Capannelle Racecourse in Rome on Nov. 4. Five group races are on tap, including the only Group 1 of the Italian pattern, the 2000-metre €407,000 Premio Lydia Tesio Sisal Matchpoint for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and up. The Premio Lydia Tesio recently had its prizemoney increased. The other group races consist of the 2000-metre €257,400 G2 Premio Roma Champion GBI Racing, 1600-metre €80,300 G3 Premio Ribot, 1800-metre €77,000 G3 Premio Berardelli and the 1200-metre €71,500 G3 Premio Carloe E Francesco Aloisi Concessionario Fiori. In addition, the Listed Premio Divino Amore will be held for 2-year-olds over 1000 metres with a €42,900 purse.
