According to a tweet by trainer Graham Motion this morning, GII Tampa Bay Derby winner Ring Weekend (Tapit) will miss the Derby after spiking a fever. Motion wrote, “Ring Weekend spiked a temp this morning of over 102 & bloodwork confirms an infection. Sadly he will not be able to take part in Ky Derby.” Commanding Curve (Master Command), who is also owned by West Point Thoroughbreds, will make the field with the defection.
