Starlight Racing and Skychai Racing have purchased GI Kentucky Derby contender General A Rod (Roman Ruler), Starlight Racing announced via twitter Monday morning. The colt will remain with trainer Mike Maker for the Derby. Racing for J. Armando Rodriguez, General A Rod won the Jan. 1 Gulfstream Park Derby, was second in the Feb. 22 GII Besilu Stables Fountain of Youth S. and third in the Mar. 29 GI Besilu Stables Florida Derby. Starlight Racing will also be represented in the Derby by GII Risen Star S. winner Intense Holiday (Harlan's Holiday).
