Sea the Moon (Ger) (Sea the Stars {Ire}–Sanwa {Ger}, by Monsun {Ger}) has been retired. Niko Lafrentz, husband of the owner Heike Bischoff, told Racing Post: “He is injured and we have taken the decision to retire him and will start looking for a suitable home for him as a stallion. He is in Newmarket's Equine Hospital and my wife is over there with him. We won't have a complete diagnosis for a while, but it is clear that he will not be able to run again.”
††† The Markus Klug trainee boats a lifetime record of 5-4-1-0 with $710,142 in career earnings. The 3-year-oldís career was highlighted by an 11-length victory in the G1 Deutsches Derby in July and he was recently runner-up in the G1 Grosser Preis von Baden Sept. 7. Sea the Moon was originally the early favorite for the upcoming G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe
