Newmarket's Rowley Mile and July courses, Nottingham Racecourse and Market Rasen Racecourse, all part of The Jockey Club's East Region courses, have been presented with the Gold Standard Award. Established in 2006, the Racehorse Owners Association Gold Standard Award is given for excellence in the owners' raceday experience and highlights the achievement of 16 courses, broken down into six large and 10 small courses.
“This is a fantastic achievement for the East Region and I am incredibly proud of everybody who has worked so hard to bring about these awards,” said Amy Starkey, Regional Director of The Jockey Club's East Region. “Owners are vital to the health of our sport and providing a fantastic experience on a raceday is one of the best ways of ensuring not only that existing owners remain within racing but that we are attracting new owners to the sport. At Newmarket, our Owners & Trainers facility is supported by Al Basti Equiworld, to whom we are most grateful. By working in partnership we've been able to raise the bar on our offering, which is reflected in our racecourses' success in these awards.”
