Chief Ironside (GB) (Lawman {Fr}) and Danceteria (Fr) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}) will remain in Australia for a 2020 campaign. Australian Bloodstock secured interests in both horses earlier this season. Conditioned by David Menuisier, Chief Ironside was Group 3 placed in England this season before scoring in the G2 Crystal Mile on the Cox Plate undercard. He finished off the board last time out in the G1 Cantala S. at Flemington. Also trained by Menuisier, Danceteria, winner of the G1 Grosser Dallmayr Bayerisches Zuchtrennen in July, finished 14th in the G1 Cox Plate at Moonee Valley last month.
“They are both staying in Australia,” confirmed Menuisier. “I'm not sure what the plans are and who they will be trained by, but unfortunately we travelled back light. It's a blow for the yard, but I fully understand the decision. The owners are Australian, and both horses have shown they are more than capable in the best races there, so it makes sense to stay.”
