Robert and Amber Byrne's Platinum Bloodstock has taken a long-term lease on Eyrefield House Stud on The Curragh.
Robert Byrne said, “As a Curragh native I'm thrilled to be back on home turf and given Amber works for Horse Racing Ireland she is pretty happy with the commute. More seriously, though, we have been looking for a farm of this calibre for a while. Leasing farms is popular in the UK but not so common in Ireland. It has been a lesson in patience, but we are very lucky to have secured such a wonderful farm in a fantastic location. It is 160 acres of the best possible land with all the facilities to run a successful boarding and breeding business, so it is full steam ahead to expand and grow. We are very grateful to our clients who moved with us, to the Dargan family for agreeing to lease the farm and we look forward to welcoming new clients to Eyrefield.”
