ALJALELA (f, 3, Unbridled’s Song–Be My Prospect, by Forest Wildcat), a debut winner over the Delaware lawn Sept. 1, was working well for her return, including a bullet four-furlong move in :48 3/5 (1/33) around the dogs over the Oklahoma turf June 26. Off at odds of 5-2 here, the full-sister to Cat Burglar, MGSP, $277,800, saved ground throughout while keeping close tabs on the leaders in fourth through a half mile in :47.56. Tipped out for her run at the top of the lane, the gray hit the front in mid-stretch and powered clear to score by two lengths. Southern Gem (Smart Strike) was up for second, completing the Todd Pletcher- trained exacta. Aljalela, closely related to the ill-fated 2008 GI Kentucky Derby runner-up Eight Belles (Unbridled’s Song), was a $270,000 FTSAUG yearling and a $450,000 OBSMAR juvenile. The winner’s dam Be My Prospect produced colts by Blame in 2014 and 2015. Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $63,000. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
