Thursday, January 1, 1970 | 12:00 am

English champion juvenile filly Playful Act (Ire) (Sadler's Wells) brought a world-record $10.5 million. After a protracted bidding war between the industry's titans, it was Darley's John Ferguson outlasting Coolmore. The five-year-old Playful Act aborted a Kingmambo foal this year. She has a Giant's Causeway weanling.
