Shalt Not (Aus) (St Covet {Aus}), a Listed stakes winner of over A$800,000 and already the dam of G2 STC Silver Slipper winner Amelia's Dream (Aus) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}), fetched a final bid of A$1.05 million to top day two of the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale at the Gold Coast. Consigned by Yarraman Park Stud and sold in foal to Testa Rossa (Aus), the 11-year-old mare was purchased by Cambridge Stud studmaster Marcus Corban on behalf of Sir Patrick Hogan. “Mares like her are rarely up for auction and we are thrilled to be able to get her,” Hogan commented. “We had the one bid right at the end and we were able to get her.” Shalt Not was one of two mares to eclipse the seven-figure barrier Tuesday. Earlier in the session, Melbourne agent Mark Pilkington went to an even A$1 million to land Group 3 winner Musidora (Aus) (Rock of Gibraltar {Ire}) from the Coolmore Stud draft.
