Encosta de Lago Colt Makes A$2 Million as Magic Millions Kicks Off

Leading trainer Gai Waterhouse went to A$2 million to acquire an athletic full brother to five-time Group 1 winner Racing to Win (Aus) as the Conrad Jupiter Magic Millions Sale kicked off Wednesday in Australia. Consigned by Coolmore Stud as agent, the Sept. 28 foal is also a half-brother to Group 3 winner Purrealist (Aus) (Tale of the Cat). “He is certainly one of the best horses I have ever bought here at the Magic Millions,” Waterhouse commented. “His full brother is a champion and he has the pedigree of a stallion. I had a number of people approach me at the sale and tell me that they wanted a stallion prospect and this horse fitted the orders. He will be raced by a large group of clients, including some from overseas,” Waterhouse added. Coolmore Australia general manager Michael Kirwan confirmed the stud would retain a share in the colt.
