A colt by Rock of Gibraltar (Ire) brought a final bid of 145,000,000 yen ($1,569,931) from Shigeyuki Okada's Big Red Farm to top Monday's opening session of the Japan Racing Horse Association's July Select Sale in Hokkaido. Out of My Katies, the yearling is a half brother to Japanese Horse of the Year Admire Moon (Jpn) (End Sweep). Asked about the sale-topping price, Okada admitted, “It is surprisingly high for me, however, I could not stop myself because this is the lot which I liked the best in today's catalogue.”
