Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lukas has handled more than his share of Storm Cats, but he won't be training the topper from FTSAUG 2009. Lukas, sitting alongside Scott Ford of Westrock Stable to the far left of the podium, was determined to get hip 204, answering bid after bid from Sheikh Mohammed's advisor John Ferguson, who was out in the back. But when the hammer fell, it was Ferguson landing the winning blow at $2.8 million. Consigned by Lane's End, agent, the dark bay colt is a 3/4-sibling to MGISW Aragorn (Ire) (Giant's Causeway).
