What a Winter Filly Leads BSA November

Lot 29, a filly by What a Winter | BSA

A juvenile filly by What a Winter (SAf) brought R800,000 (£37,797/€45,051/$50,687) to top the Bloodstock South Africa November 2-Year-Old Sale at the TBA complex in Germiston on Saturday. Purchased by Hollywood Syndicate, the full-sister to G2 Camellia S. and G3 Man O'War Sprint winner Celestial Love (SAf) (What a Winter SAf) was consigned by Hemel 'N Aarde Stud as lot 29.

The sale's priciest colt was lot 49, a son of Querari (Ger), who went to Greg Bortz for R750,000. A half-brother to the stakes-placed duo of Twinkle Toes (SAf) (Captain Al {SAf}) and Light On Her Toes (SAf) (Gimmethegreenlight {Aus}), the trio is out of Grade 1 winner On Her Toes (SAf) (Western Winter).

At the end of the day's trade, 135 lots were sold for a gross of R18,800,000 (£888,464/€1,058,616/$1,190,758). The average was R140,299 and the median was R100,000 (£4,725/€5,632/$6,336). For the complete results, please visit the Bloodstock South Africa website.
