Invincible Spirit Colt Brings 550,00 at Goffs

Coolmore representative Demi O'Byrne went to 550,000 euros to land the highest-priced yearling thus far at Goffs Orby, a colt by Invincible Spirit (Ire) out of 2005 G1 Irish 1000 Guineas heroine Saoire (GB) (Pivotal {GB}). Bred by Joseph Joyce, the bay Irish-bred colt was consigned by Cahermorris Stables Ltd. as Lot 354. A half-sister to the colt, Pink Diva (Ire) (Giant's Causeway), made 475,000 euros at the Goffs Million Sale a year Ago; Hugo Merry Bloodstock purchased the filly for conditioner Tom Tate. Pink Diva finished ninth of 12 on debut at Newcastle Aug. 30, but came back to win by three lengths at Pontefract Sept. Sept. 23 (video). Pink Diva is trained by Tate for owner Mrs. Fitri Hay.
