Empire Maker Filly Breaks Million-Dollar Barrier at Fasig

A daughter of Empire Maker soared past the seven-figure barrier, selling for $1.35 million to the bid of John Ferguson Thursday at Fasig-Tipton February. The bay was consigned by Murray Smith, who purchased the youngster for $435,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale. The two-year-old, who worked a furlong in :10 flat Monday, is out of Half A.P. (Pulpit), a half-sister to champion Halfbridled (Unbridled).
